Q – Why should I use the
Backup Card?
A – If you are worried about
losing any data due to a crash, the batteries completely draining, or
physically losing your unit -- your worries are over!!
How to use the Backup card
- Insert Card into Palm Handheld as shown.
- Gently press the card in to secure it.
- To remove the card just gently press the cardand it will pop part of the way out.

- From the Home Screen Choose the category view pull down in the upper Right cornerand choose CARD
- The only icon to appear is BackupMan. Click the Clock in the top left and choose Copy in the App menu.
- Change the Copy From field from Handheld to Card. Select BackupMan and then click Copy. This will copy the program for
you, when finished click Done.
- Change the Category view from Card to All – Upper right of the screen

- Click the icon for BackupMan from the Main Screen window – the one
you normally see, similar to the left most picture above, labeled Main
Screen
- An information screen may appear – you can click OK to continue
- From the BackupMan main window click Schedule
- Choose Daily as the Backup Type
- Choose an appropriate time so that when the backup runs you will
not be using the Palm. If the backup starts and you are using the Palm
the backup software takes over and does the backup instead of
waiting for you to be done. When the time is set click OK.
- Set "Keep at most # scheduled backups" to 10. This number is more
than the card can hold this way it does backups and keeps the n most
recent backups for you where n is the max of the card.
- Click OK
- Click on the BackupMan tab in the upper left and choose the Options Menu and then Preferences
- Choose Turn off after scheduled backup – This will help conserve
battery life as after the backup is finished the unit will promptly
turn off instead of waiting for the Power off timeout time to elapse
- Choose Keep multiple daily backups – This way it really will keep as many days as the card can hold –YOU MUST DO THIS!!
- Click OK and you are ready to use the software. It will automatically backup everyday.

Leave the copy of the BackupMan program on the card so that this
way if the palm gets a memory wipe you can restore from the last
backup. We sent you two cards. Cycle them every two weeks and
leave the one not in the palm in a safe place. This way we have a
backup even if you were to physically lose the palm, it won’t be
perfect but will be better then nothing
